Hi, and Welcome to Planet Pup Dog training!
We specialise in helping people like you to turn your dog into the perfect companion animal for you and your family. We provide puppy training classes to ensure that you and your new furry family member get off to a great start, but also provide obedience and behaviour modification training for older dogs.
We use reward-based training to build the relationship between dog and handler so that your dog genuinely wants to do what you ask of them.
We believe in providing dog owners with the knowledge and skills to help them build a better relationship, creating a partnership of trust and understanding between human and canine.

My Story
My name is Lauren Smith, and I’ve been working with animals since I was 12 years old. While dogs are my main focus, my experience extends to a wide range of animals, including horses, cats, rats, and even a ferret!
My journey into dog training began with a Miniature Dachshund called Morgan. By the age of 14, we were competing together in obedience and agility, and by 17, I was already teaching dog training classes at my local dog training school.
Animal training has been my lifelong passion. It’s more than a career, it’s what I love most. Helping dogs and their owners build strong, lasting relationships through positive, effective training is the most rewarding job I could ever imagine.
"We have only been for 3 sessions and I can't believe the difference in my dog and my understanding of her." - Cindy
"From the first session, Lauren helped us make sense of everything" - Micheal

My Dogs...
I currently own a black working-line German Shepherd (Tyson). We recently said farewell to our wonderful Collie Cross, Nala, due to health issues. She was fantastic at anything trick-based and achieved her beginners, intermediate, and advanced trick dog titles from Do More With Your Dog. Tyson is trained in Obedience, Protection, and Tracking. He currently has his BH (Begleithundprüfung), and although we were aiming to compete in IGP, a shoulder injury has prevented that. We are looking to compete in Kennel Union Obedience in the coming years.
My Training Philosophy
At Planet Pup, I truly believe there’s no such thing as a 'bad dog.' Every behavioural challenge has a solution — it’s just about understanding the dog and finding the right approach. My goal is to make training a positive and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. We work together as a team, tapping into what motivates your dog most to bring out their best and build a strong, lasting bond.
